Hafiz Mustafa 1864 is an illustration of authentic Turkish desserts in Dubai, including but not limited to baklava, kadayif, cakes, puddings, and Turkish delight.

Although all Hafiz Mustafa 1864’s products are world-class, particular mention must be made for their Turkish delight selection which includes over ten different flavors to enjoy!

3. Candylicious

There’s a sort of childlike wonder that comes with entering a candy store; thus, it’s unsurprising that a city known for its larger-than-life architecture/events is home to one of the biggest candy stores in the world!

Situated in the Dubai Mall, Candylicious is home to over 5 500 different types, brands, and sizes of candy from all over the world! Thus, whether you are in the mood for big brand sweets, vegan options, healthy snacks, and/or authentic homemade candy, Candylicious is bound to have what you’re looking for across its 11 500 square foot storefront!

Furthermore, Candylicious can host and sponsor all types of events such as baby showers, birthday parties, etc.

4. Nouq

Although Dubai is famous as an international hub for global businesses, people, and cuisines, there’s something extra special about visiting a foreign country/city and being exposed to its own unique culture, customs, and cooking.

Fortunately, Nouq meets this requirement by being the only ice cream store on this list that exclusively uses camel milk in its products! Although this may seem like a wholly foreign concept to some palates, camel milk has been used for centuries and is renowned for being healthier than cow’s milk while being suitable for lactose-intolerant people.

While Nouq is home to traditional ice cream flavors like vanilla and chocolate, newcomers are encouraged to expand their tastes to more Middle Eastern variants to complement the use of camel’s milk.

Therefore, patrons should look toward flavors such as Emirati date, baklava, and Arabic majestic!

5. Ice Cream Lab

Unlike traditional ice cream stores, Ice Cream Lab gets customers invested in the ice cream-making process by allowing customers to customize their own fresh ice cream from various ingredients.

How fresh, do you ask? Well, considering the ice cream products are made on-site with liquid nitrogen, we would say very fresh!

However, should you opt for premade ice cream designs, the Ice Cream Lab has some unique flavors/products to try, such as Lotus Experiment, Salt Lick Crunch, and Mix Fruit Bosco Strawberry.

Furthermore, most of the Ice Cream Lab’s flavors/products are available as milkshakes as well!

As the name implies, The Choco Monarch specializes in the production and use of 100% Belgian chocolate across a range of products, including but not limited to pure chocolate, waffles, pancakes, cakes, crepes, and various hot/cold beverages.

Although their traditional chocolate/dessert dishes come highly recommended, it’s their unique twist and addition of chocolate to contemporary dishes that are of particular interest.

Therefore, some menu highlights include French toast with a serving of ice cream, the Monarch cream puff pyramid, crispy rice bowls, and their signature lattes (known as Dipates.)

7. Scoopi

Not to be overshadowed by the Ice Cream Lab, the aptly named Scoopi also uses liquid nitrogen to flash-freeze their ice creams, providing customers with an unmatched level of freshness and a unique experience to enjoy.

However, Scoopi differentiates itself by producing premium, luxury ice cream flavors, including but not limited to saffron pistachio, charcoal, mango Graham, paan, Kachi Keri, matcha, dates, and Italian black truffle.

Scoopi also has an extensive range of artisanal chocolates and milkshakes to indulge your sweet tooth. However, the most ambitious item on their menu by far is the Black Diamond.

Recognized as one of the most expensive ice creams in the world, the Black Diamond is handcrafted with some of the finest ingredients available, including Madagascan vanilla beans, Iranian saffron, and Italian black truffle slices, and garnished with edible 23-carat-gold flakes. All of which come packaged in a take-home gold bowl and silver spoon!

With such luxuries on offer, it’s no wonder Scoopi was awarded Best Luxury Ice Cream in the Middle East in 2018 and 2020 by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards!

8. M’OISHI

M’OISHI is a new take on the ancient Japanese confectionery of mochi (a sweet, chewy rice cake.) Namely, that M’OISHI involves the introduction of ice cream into the center of traditional mochi cakes, resulting in a unique blend between a chewy powdery exterior and a soft, melt-in-your-mouth interior!

Consequently, because of this merger of flavor profiles, all M’OISHI’s flavors are described as “double flavors,” including but not limited to traditional ice cream variants such as double vanilla and double chocolate, along with more conventional mochi flavors like double litchi or double yuzu.

Along with their unique ice cream/mochi combinations, M’OISHI’s menu also features traditional desserts such as milkshakes, as well as conventional Japanese/Asian-inspired treats like bubble tea!

Finally, although its storefronts across ten different locations in Dubai feature seating, M’OISHI prides itself on business-to-customer delivery and/or business-to-business catering for ease of access.

9. Black Tap

Founded in New York City and known for its craft beers and burgers, Black Tap may appear like an odd addition to a list dedicated to dessert stores. However, Black Tap is considered by many to be the home of Freakshakes/Crazyshakes that took the social media pages by storm in the 2010s!

Essentially, a Freakshake/Crazyshake is a milkshake that is stacked with an assortment of extravagant toppings to complement the core flavor of the milkshake, including but not limited to whole heads; of cotton candy, slices of cake, and giant pretzels!

Oftentimes, these Freakshakes/Crazyshakes can incorporate a whole sweet and savory meal in one!

Although all their Crazyshakes are mind-blowing and need to be seen to be believed, some of my personal favorites are the Brooklyn Blackout which features a rim of chocolate chip cookies, and the Cake Shake, which features a whole slice of funfetti cake!

They even have a vegan option known as the Vegan Black n’ White Cakeshake, which also sports a whole slice of vegan cake as a topping!

Important information:

  • Address: Financial Center Rd – Downtown Dubai
  • Opening hours: 12 pm – 1 am every day
  • Website: https://blacktapme.com/
  • Phone number: +971 4 330 5103

10. SugarMoo

Ending Turning the dial down from Black Tap’s Crazyshakes, we have more traditional dessert options via Sugarmoo.

While Sugarmoo has various products available, including but not limited to ice cream, pies, trifles, brownies, cookies, jars, truffles, candy bundles, and vegan desserts, I personally believe the highlight on their menu and for those looking to host events is their cake selection.

Although Sugarmoo does give customers the option of designing their own cakes, their set menu has an unmatched level of variety that’s bound to meet the needs of any/all customers.

Some menu highlights include baklava tart, kunafeh cheesecake, and their Cake Pop Smash, which is a hollow cake that can be broken open to reveal numerous smaller multicolor cupcakes! (note: the Cake Pop Smash requires a 48-hour notice for baking.)

All their cakes and products are available in-store for delivery, meaning there’s no excuse not to try out some of their products next time you’re craving a delectably sweet treat!

11. Magnolia Bakery

Famous for its regular appearances on popular American shows like Sex and the City, Magnolia Bakery has spawned a global franchise that has a dedicated following with multiple storefronts across Dubai.

The main selling point of Magnolia Bakery is despite its franchise status; it remains true to its original vision statement of making all its products in-store with the finest ingredients while not relying on any premade mixes.

Although Magnolia Bakery’s food options are somewhat limited when it comes to desserts, such as standard cake and cupcake flavors, they do sport some unique beverage options.

Highlights on the drinks menu include various unique lattes like                rose, hibiscus, and lavender, pistachio caramel iced coffee, and various milkshake flavors (all of which have a mini cupcake as a topping!)

Important information:

12. Brownie Point

Finalizing our list, we have Brownie Point. As the name suggests, Brownie Point is known for its brownies, although they have numerous traditional dessert options on their menu like cakes, mousses, tarts, and pies.

Some brownie highlights include Ferrero Rocher, KitKat, Maltesers, Nutella, Snickers, Oreo, and Toblerone.

Another highlight of Brownie Point is their focus on festival/holiday-themed products; therefore, make sure to visit and see what they have on offer over Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Diwali, and Halloween!
